Currently August? Say it ain't so!

Now you all know that Farley's Currently is one of my all time favorite linky parties, but I'm sad about this one.  Yes, folks.  It's August.  In my world, August means summer is pretty much over.  My kids show 4H animals and my husband is on the fair board of directors.  Our fair starts on Sunday so we will be super busy all next week.  Then we head back for Professional Development and work days on August 15th and the kids come on the 20th.  Poof!  There goes August!

Anywho--here's my August edition of Currently!  I'm just going to embrace it and go with it!

Listening
My son has been constantly watching Mythbusters on Netflix.  I thought surely he was almost through all the episodes until last night when I asked him and he informed me that there are something like 9 million seasons!  (I actually think he said 9, but I heard 9 million).  Seriously, how many myths are there to be busted???

Loving
I am absolutely in love with my laminator and paper cutter.  How did I teach before this??  I'm actually sitting here with the laminator next to me running papers through as I type this.  What??!!  Such a time saver!

Thinking
It's fair week and then B2S for this girl.  Don't worry though.  I have a few fabulous guest bloggers lined up for next week while I'll be at the fair.  Hopefully, I can get enough wifi signal on the fairgrounds to check in from time to time!

Wanting
Duh!  Who doesn't want another month of summer?  Now, I shouldn't be all doom and gloom though because I am excited to get back in the swing of things and meet my new kiddos, but I really love the "no schedule, stay up late" kind of routine that I have going on!

Needing
This time of year it seems like I'm ALWAYS out of printer ink.  I try to stay stocked up, but today I ran out.  Just when I was on a roll.  Guess I'll be heading out later to get more!  If anyone has any great tips on where to get the cheapest ink, I'd love to hear it.  I have an HP printer.

B2S Must Haves
Product Details
These pens are THE BOMB! I got mine at Amazon because I live in the middle of nowhere and couldn't find the fun colors at any store.  Click the image for more info.

Cover art
I read this blog post by Kinder Kraziness the other day and immediately went to check out the website.  I've since signed up, downloaded the app and I have all the sign up info ready to give to parents at Kindergarten Orientation.  I think it's going to be a really good way to communicate with parents this year.  Not everyone checks their email regularly, but most people text and read them immediately!

This "must have" also happens to be on Farley's list, too.  How often do you think, "Oh, I need to type up a reminder for ****** to send home today!"  Problem solved!  This pack from Teacher to the Core has reminders for EVERYTHING!  I can't wait to get it all printed and organized.  But--no printer ink, remember!  You can find this fab product by clicking the HERE or the image.

Now go link up with Farley to see everyone else's B2S must haves!

    1. It's a Fiskars brand paper cutter. It was only $19.99 and I had a 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby. Yes, do it! You won't be sorry!

  2. Hi Lisa!
I found your blog through Farley's currently linky. I love the colors! I know what it is like to spend so much of August at the fair! I spent weeks there as a kid showing cows. It is quite the commitment before back to school. Your kids will always remember it as one of the best times of their childhood. I know I do and my brother met his wife at the fair when we were 9 years old.
Those pens look like a must try!

    1. Yay! Someone who "gets" fair week! We show hogs and goats. No cattle for us although my husband did when he was a kid. And it definitely is making memories for us!

  6. I love the FriXion pens as well! I actually found the "retractable" pens at my local Office Depot! Now I don't have to take the pen cap off to erase!

  7. I actually shared a couple of Mythbusters episodes with my students-they have them on Discovery Education. My favorite is the one where they bust the myth of being able to swing all the way around a swingset-we used to try to do that all the time when we were little. :) Really cute blog-I'm your newest follower!

    1. I don't think I've seen (or heard) that one, yet. I'll have to ask him if he's seen it. I'd like to see that one!
